Real estate agency LaCasa-DasHaus is proud to share exciting news highlighting the international recognition of Mooma, the prestigious producer of Empordà cider. In the recent fifth edition of the Sagardo Forum, a prestigious international competition held in Sant Sebastià (Basque Country), Mooma has reached the summit by earning four highly prestigious distinctions.
Among more than 250 ciders from around the world, Mooma stood out in three of the nine categories it competed in. The Ancestral Reserva cider, with an impressive 90.7 points, secured the gold medal in the Premium Sparkling category, praised for its exceptional quality. Additionally, Mooma and Ancestral Criança ciders were awarded silver medals in the Modern and Premium Sparkling categories, with scores of 81.9 and 86.5, respectively. The Aged Cider earned bronze in the Dominant Acidity category, with 73.9 points.
The Sagardo Forum, organized by Sagardoaren Lurraldea, is an event dedicated to apples and their derivatives, as well as cider culture and tourism. With the participation of tasters from around the world, the competition took place at the Palau de Congressos Kursaal, where Mooma shone in a third of the categories, receiving praise from international winemakers, chefs, and sommeliers.
Pau Frigola, director of Mooma, expressed gratitude and enthusiasm for the awards, highlighting that these achievements reinforce the company’s commitment to excellence. Frigola stated: “These awards encourage us to continue our journey, maintaining the same dedication and quality that has characterized us. They also demonstrate that in Catalonia, we are recognized as producers of high-quality cider, extending our reputation beyond our borders.”
It is worth mentioning that these successes add to the recognitions earned by Mooma in other prestigious international competitions, such as the International Gala Cider Fair (SISGA) and the Nordic International Cider Awards (NICA) in Asturias and Latvia, respectively, further consolidating Mooma’s position as a reference in the world of cider.
